Family Life Resource Center blends a home-like, safe and confidential environment to provide a comprehensive counseling and education center. Based in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, FLRC offers a wide variety of professional counseling services, programs and workshops designed to assist individuals, families and organizations discover a greater sense of hope, health, and healing.

Who We Are:  Family Life Resource Center is a nonprofit group committed to supporting families, marriage, non- violence, and  individual growth.  We offer individual counseling, workshops, support groups, therapy groups,  and training classes.  We are active neighbors in our community participating in community improvement organizations and offering several public events during the year.  We work every day to be true to our name Family Life Resource Center.

What We Do:  We offer one-on-one counseling, workshops, support groups, and therapy groups. We provide marriage counseling, pre-marriage counseling, and counseling for grief, stress, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, child abuse, parenting, and other relationship problems. 

Who We Serve:  Our clients are married couples, engaged couples, families, children, young adults, and older adults.  People who need help because their lives have been affected by marital problems, divorce or separation, grief, aging, stress, and living in an age of uncertainty.  In 2007, our average new clients were female about 35 years old, members of a worshiping community, and residents of the Harrisonburg, Virginia area.

Our Staff:  Our staff includes seasoned Counselors and recent graduates.  With the exception of Interns and Residents, all are Licensed Professional Counselors, some are Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and one is a Certified Care Manager.  All are caring Christian individuals and highly regarded and well known in their fields.    

As a nonprofit organization, Family Life Resource Center is in need of and very grateful for donations, gifts, grants and any other form of financial support.  We are currently seeking sponsors for our Picture of Healing support group, and two new support groups currently in the planning stages --a care giving for caregivers support group, and a grief support group.  We are also in need of help with furnishing a new group meeting room.  If you can help in any of these areas, please contact our Director at 540-434-8450.

Family Life Resource Center works with a wide range of clients and, as such, accepts many different insurance programs. We welcome any of your questions concerning costs and/or insurance coverage.
